| He was elected to the UP Assembly
for the first time in the last elections from the Bageshwar constituency,
which is reserved for the scheduled tribes. He was the Minister of State
for Uttaranchal Development in the erstwhile UP Ministry.
Ramdas is a lawyer by profession.
He was jailed for taking an active part in the agitation for the separate
state of Uttaranchal.
He has held important posts in various
organisations. He has been the Vice-President of the Bageshwar Bar Association,
is President of the Bhoomiheen Sangharsh Samiti and the President of the
Harijan Ekta Parishad.
He is a post-graduate with an LLB
degree.
