Bansidhar Bhagat

Bansidhar Bhagat, the Uttaranchal Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Cooperatives, Sugarcane development and Sugar Industry Minister, was born in 1951 in Bhakyura village of Nainital District.
After a stint as a full time member of the RSS, he joined its political wing, the BJP. 

It was in 1991 that he was first elected to the UP Assembly from Nainital Constituency. He has been successively elected to the Assembly since then.

He was a minister of state in the Kalyan-Mayawati and, later, in the Ramprakash Gupta governments. 

He took part in the Ram Janambhoomi movement and has also been a member of the U.P. Vidhan Sabha Assurances Committee.
