| This is his first term as an MLA.
He and his wife are advocates by profession and have participated in a
number of agitations and movements.
He is the President of the Cooperative
Drug Factory Union at Ranikhet. A patron of the Valmiki Society, he also
gives free legal advice to many societies.
He was also an active participant
in the agitation for a separate state and was the member of the central
executive committee of the Sangharsh Samiti.
He was jailed for participating in
the Ram Janambhoomi movement.
