- Pauri - Binsar Trek

The trek starts from
Thalisain via Pauri. Pauri is an enchant- ing hill station, presenting
a panoramic view of the Garhwal Himalayan snow peaks, and on a clear
day the sunset is worth seeing from Kandolia 5 kms. from
Rishikesh.

From Thalisain the trail is very rich in forests of deodar, silver
fir, pine and oak, full of wildlife. The trek is best
for winter months. It is not diffi- cult with gradual ascents and
descents. Enroute the trek, one can offer homage at the great
freedom fighter Veer Chander Singh Garhwali's
samadhi built in the midst of the Dudhatholi Sanctuary at Musa Kota.This
trek is full of life and the trekkers will enjoy the scenic beauty throughout. |

Drive from Rishikesh/Kotdwar
to Pauri ......134 km/ 108 km. Luch enroute. Evening for sightseeing .
Overnight in hotel. |
| 2nd day
: |
After breakfast
drive 94 km to Thalisain with packed lunch (4 hrs.), trek 13 km.
to Piersain. Overnight in tents. |
| 3rd day
: |
Morning free for
leisure, after early hot lunch, trek to Binsar 7 km. Overnight in tents
or in hotels. |
| 4th day
: |
After breakfast
with packed lunch trek to Gairsain 22 km down hill. Overnight in tents/forest
rest house. |
| 5th day
: |
Drive to Rishikesh
235 km, enroute visit the antique temple of Adi Badri and see the confluence
of the river Pinder and Alaknanda at Karanprayag. |
