One full day [12 km both ways]
| It
is six kilometres trek from Khatl- ing. Start early in
the morning after breakfast and return same day
in the afternoon. Overnight in caves at Khatling glacier.
Sahasratal and Masartal is on the east and west of Khalting gla- cier
respectively. Nature has showered her rich
bounty on the valley of Bhilangana, full
of enchantment and a panoramic view of the
snow capped peaks and hanging glaciers such as Jogin group
(6,466 M), Sphetic Prisht- wan (6,905 M), Kirti Stambh ( 6,402
M ), Barte Kanta ( 6,579 M ), Meru etc. The most outstanding is
Sphetic Prishtwan, made of white quartz,
which from a distance dazzles like the driven snow.
The snow tops of these peaks are magnificent.
The whole
trek passes through very thick forests and beautiful lush green
meadows and in the rainy season the
meadows are bedecked by most delightful flowers. |

Trekkers, while on this trek, have to cross smallstreams, which they will
encounter in scores, by way of improvised log bridges.
Gangi
is the last village in the valley, and its inhabitants are still very much
cut off from the rest of the
world. They live their everyday lives closely
associated with the history and legends
of their centuries - old families. Because of the distances between
villages, they have no option but to marry within their own community.
As a result of this inbreeding. more than half the couples are issueless.
Trisul
base camp can be approached from
Deodi to Tridang, via Bethartoli. For this trek, guide services and ropes
are advisable.
