This trek
is for those who want to see the Garhwal Himalayas and
do not have the strength or time to obtain a close
view. Three sidhpeeths are on top of a hill in a triangular
form named after Goddess Durga. From each
temple, the other is visible, presenting a panoramic
view of the mighty Garhwal Himalayas and the Doon
valley. They are:
| 1.
Kunjapuri |
1665 metres |
| 2. Surkunda |
3030 metres |
| 3. Chandrabandni |
2756 metres |
| 4. Ansuya
Devi |
|
Each trek is approachable by motor and by short treks
of an hour and a half each. These treks are not tiresome. Except
for Chandrabandni, tap water is not available, therefore,
water is to be carried along.
Those
who are versed in transcendental meditation
can feel the vibration at each of these holy sites.
